Help Page

To use the web pages effectively it helps to understand several things:

1) The web-site is a long series of sequential pages.

2) The dates on the opening page point (or link) to pages in these series.

3) Generally, I only create a link on the day of the lecture.

4) The fact that a date has no link does not mean the material is not there, only that the link to it has not been created.

5) You can usually access the material by clicking on an earlier date and then simply paging through the web-site (NOTE ALSO that although the daily links tell you where we are starting on each class day, there is no marker for where we are stopping. Without being in class (or asking someone) you can not tell which is the last page for each class day).

6) Please also note that while most of the pages up to the next exam are already available, they are subject to change.  I often change pages the day before or the day of class.  Most changes are not too radical.

7) Always remember that the web pages are not a substitute for class notes.  A good rule of thumb is that the web page information should comprise no more than one quarter of your notes.  For every sentence on the web pages, you should write at least an additional three sentences in class.  Studying the web pages without additional notes will generally result in grades no higher than "C"
